Our potluck is scheduled for the 17th at 6:30 p.m. at Tangipahoa. We usually call it our Kick-off, but it is a potluck so everyone will know to bring food.
Also, our field day is scheduled for September 24th at Enon Baptist Church.
We'll try to get more events on there as we get more things finalized.
Welcome to our web site!
We're kicking off a brand new school year with lots of activities and events for everyone. We'll have Spanish classes again this year and we’re adding an art class as well. There will be field days and field trips, a spelling bee, an international fair and much more. Please take a few minutes to explore this site. Check out our calendar of events, review our mission statement, or post a comment on our blog. A special thanks to all those who have made these activities possible. Come and join with us as we support each other in this journey of homeschooling.

A few years ago I won a free year of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine at one of our homeschool group meetings. That was the best prize! I enjoyed it so much I renewed for myself and a friend the next year. There is a lot of information about curriculum, and so much more.

WeE-books, a review

E-books are a new adventure to me, and the WeE-book line from The Old Schoolhouse has convinced me that this is a great way to learn. TOS has 30 WeE-books available for download. Follow their link to see the entire line here. The WeE-books I downloaded were easy to access through my dial-up internet, which made a huge impression on me to begin with. I enjoyed being able to download the e-books (fairly quickly), then later opened up my laptop when I had reading time in the evening. Not having to be signed onto the internet to access the information, I was able to sit on the sofa with my laptop and enjoy reading. There are links throughout the books to different sites mentioned as well as to helpful features of TOS. That feature of the e-book is so user friendly, when you are online, just click and you go to the site you have been reading about! Some have charts and other helpful resources ready for you to print and use. If you have never used an E-book, try one of these, they are value priced at $1.99 each.
